"Heathrow" is a Christmas song, but it's not really a very nice Christmas song. Not really for opening presents to. More of a vengeful kind of Christmas song, if that's a genre. You might well ask, "Then what is it FOR?" I don't know, really. It just is.

I wrote it a few years ago when a couple of friends were having trouble with substandard menfolk and only just got around to recording it properly*.

*I use the term "properly" in the loosest of senses.

a trench coat, or a briefcase or a suitcase,
not a human, not a life.

And Heathrow is such a lonely place to part,
when you waved it broke my heart.

this close to Christmas?

a self-help book, or a mirror, or a necktie,
or a razor, or some pills.

And I hope you enjoyed your quiet Christmas,
I hope you enjoyed your lonely Christmas,
I hope you enjoyed your empty Christmas.
